Prescott Named Safest City in Arizona to Retire: Northern Arizona City Ranked the Second Safest Amongst 12 Western States
National home security firm, Security Choice® released their 2018 rankings for the safest cities to retire, naming Prescott Arizona’s safest city and #2 amongst 12 western states.* Talking Rock, a private master-planned community 30 minutes outside of Prescott, builds on this reputation by providing residents with the peace of mind a guard-gated entrance affords.
“Prescott boasts a warm climate and a 34 percent population of residents age 65 years and better,” said Security Choice. “Nearby is the Prescott National Forest and several golf destinations, and the city is among the top 25 percent safest cities in America in terms of crime rate.”
Prescott was ranked as the seventh safest city to retire in the nation, second safest city in the west, and the number one safest city to retire in Arizona. To determine the rankings, Security Choice analyzed 495 cities or major metro areas across the U.S. utilizing U.S. Census information, FBI Crime Data, average retirement in a state and the states’ elder abuse laws in place to protect seniors. If a city wasn’t represented in a data source, it was excluded from the analysis.
